Engynious strengthens its UK presence
Solar energy developers Engynious Clean Power has strengthened its position in the UK with the appointment of Ann Flaherty to head up its UK schools and agriculture solar PV programme.
Ann has worked in the sustainable education sector for the past five years and previously worked within commercial horticulture on the industry's then leading publication.
Engynious chairman Ted Scheidegger said: "We are delighted Ann has joined our team to develop and deliver our UK strategy across the schools, public and agriculture sectors."
Ann Flaherty said: "Engynious, as a developer of solar PV in the UK aims to retain ownership and develop long-term partnerships with the schools and farmers where it installs. This is of paramount importance to schools as they need confidence in these relationships and the long-term beneficial operation of the solar PV on their rooftops."
In the past two years, Ann has been associated with Winch Energy's Power Your Future programme, which partners with Eco-Schools England, and has supported the development of PV solar installations at more than 100 schools nationwide.
Her previous employment includes working for HRH The Prince of Wales, co-developing and delivering the educational element of the Prince's Rainforests Project which aimed to raise public awareness to rainforest destruction and which saw over 1,600 schools sign up in six months.
Engynious Clean Power was set up in the UK earlier this year. The parent company was established in 2001 in Switzerland and its chairman is Ted Scheidegger, former CEO of Siemens Solar and Hydro.
Engynious delivers solutions for the generation and use of solar energy to meet distributed power requirements. It specializes in decentralized rooftop developments. Through its technical and commercial competence and continuous work on technology enhancements and innovative business models, it makes renewables a viable alternative for the sustainable long-term supply and use of energy.
